Solarexpo, the international exhibition and conference on renewable energy and distributed generation, is set to move to Milan’s exhibition centre in 2013 thanks to an agreement signed between Fiera Milano spa and Expoenergie srl, the organiser of Solarexpo.
“We are delighted that Solarexpo has chosen Fiera Milano as the future venue for its exhibition,” commented Enrico Pazzali, chief executive of the Milan-based trade fair company. “by joining us Solarexpo will gain global visibility and appeal. Fiera Milano offers state-of-the-art exhibition and conference facilities of renowned excellence to support the development of solar photovoltaics and the other renewable energy technologies. Since it is well-known that Fiera Milano is a key business driver, we are confident that the future editions of Solarexpo in Milan will provide further support to the renewable energy sector.”
Solarexpo is Italy’s leading renewable energy trade fair and the third largest solar event in the world. “The new positioning of Solarexpo in Milan represents another step in the evolution of our event that during its 13 years has always embraced innovation to match market dynamics,” stated Luca Zingale, Solarexpo’s scientific director and CEO of Expoenergie. “In this scenario, Fiera Milano provides an important platform geared towards attaining the goals of our internationalisation strategy that aims to address the challenges of those players willing to compete in the solar and other renewable energy markets, which are now totally globalised.”
In fact, internationalisation is a crucial key to ensuring a second phase of growth for the solar sector as it takes centre stage in the vibrant future of green economy. “It’s an industry that has already made great strides forward but where both a certain selection process among industrial players and contraction of the internal market are inevitable,” concluded Mr Zingale “Its further development must therefore be conceived ever more on a global scale, gradually transferring technological know-how and entrepreneurial energy from mature to emerging markets.”
Solarexpo today is an event that covers 100,000 square metres of exhibition space, gathers more than 1,000 exhibiting companies – 40% of them coming from 30 different countries – and attracts over 70,000 trade visitors. Its calendar of conferences includes 60 events and is attended by over 6,000 people and 350 speakers from Italy and abroad. Forty different sector associations are involved.
